It turns out that during our teenage years our brains perform what is called ‘Synaptic pruning’. This where our brains remove neural connections that are not being used. A case of use it or lose it. The brain is basically going through its final stages of development which is completed by our early 20’s. What you do with your teenage brain will therefore have profound effects on the adult brain you end up with. Learning a musical instrument like guitar is therefore recommended.
